Petting the Horses
Mikayla really has taken a liking to riding. (like mother like daughter) She’s a natural and her instructor says that she listens really well and is improving so much every week. Rachel also looks forward to our visit to the horse ranch each week as well. Thank goodness most of the horses are friendly as she wants to pet them all!
It was an overcast day and started to rain while we were there. Here are a few photos I took before our down pour…
A horse eating grass is absolutely fascinating.

The resident Border Collie. She’s a sweetie.

Petting the first of *many* horses.

Here’s another…

This horse is Remy. I love this photo showing the size difference of this gentle giant to my little gal.

Believe it or not, these are just a few of the 100+ that I took yesterday. None of Mikayla riding as my camera sucks in low-light, action settings. Instead I videotaped her using the camera (which has no zoom capabilities). The clip is about 3 minutes long. The instructor is Wendy and the babbling is Joshua. LOL :)

This could almost be my farm, with the horses eating grass, the border collie, the little children petting horses . . .
Sweet photos, Christine! I love how small she looks standing next to that gentle giant!

Kate, this is one activity I don’t mind schlepping my daughter back and forth too! LOL
It does remind me too much of your horse farm. I am reminded of you every Tuesday.

oh I just LOVE that pic of your daughter petting Remy! What a great photo!
Nice that she likes the horses too so it gives her something to do while her older sis rides.

What a cute little pony! I used to ride a Shetland when I was about that age.
My baby sister is now a professional horse girl- she teaches lessons at a stables and participates in shows, etc. SO COOL!!!
Your daughter is learning well!!
Don’t you just love how the nose of a horse feels?
