Spring At Last!
The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day.
~Robert Frost
I think I can safely say Spring has come to our neck of the woods. It got up into the 50’s and we were able to wear shorts. (Well, not me… I never wear shorts in public. I’m funny like that.) We were enjoying the fresh air.
Rachel enjoyed riding her tricycle and scooter. Just last year, her feet couldn’t touch the pedals and the bar was up at her chin. They grow so fast, don’t they?
Joshua explored grass for the very first time. He tried some for taste. But mostly he couldn’t figure out just what it was.
He hated the feel of the dead grass, though. Every time he touched it, he made this face.
My husband played 4-Square with the girls (my two girls are to the right of the photo). When hubby would play this game last year, it brought back memories of playing it ourselves when we were kids. It was funny seeing the game played again.
They begged me to play last year. But being 8-months pregnant… no way. This year I’ll have to make good on my promise and whip their tails! I’m not the type to “let kids win” for the sake of making them feel good. Nope! They gotta earn the win! Hubby doesn’t go easy on them, either. Maybe tomorrow I’ll show them who is boss on the 4-Square court.
What kind of games did you play as a kid?

We played jump rope a lot as a kid. And four square. But mostly, I was into the basketball games. Our gym classes at school still offer four square and the kids love it.
Spring, finally! Yay for you all!

We played Red Rover, and Kick the Can, then later Hearts, Spades and other card games.

I forgot about Red Rover.
Red Rover, Red Rover, send Kacey right over.
I always sucked at those games, especially Dodge Ball.

I played football with the entire family when I was a child. And when dad and mom can not play football with us, my siblings and I will just play badminton and sometimes table tennis! I really missed those times…when everything is simple but nice.
