Erotic teens?

From the New York Times editorial section, a reporter states what he saw in a middle school talent show and boldly stands up to say how wrong it all was. I get the feeling this reporter has rose-colored glasses on, though.  How could he have not seen this kind of behavior before?  How many parents are out there completely unaware of the kind of influences their child receives in school and other areas of their life?  It’s sad and definitely a symptom of how priorities have shifted within the family…  parents more involved in their own lives or not caring about what goes on in the children’s lives.

The behavior exhibited within this article is what I want to avoid for my girls.  Seeing, doing, and acting this way.  And trust me, in the school district we live in… it is all too much of a reality of what would happen…

Editorial Observer: Middle School Girls Gone Wild
By LAWRENCE DOWNES
What surprises me is how completely parents of even younger girls seem to have gotten in step with society’s march toward eroticized adolescence.
